Mear's Roofing, a community contractor AT YOUR SERVICE! Every year we show our appreciation to the community by giving back. We do this by helping a private party in need or in some cases partnering with larger organizations such as Tacoma-Pierce County Habitat For Humanity. This year we partnered with HFH on a great duplex project in Tacoma. 

When we donate a roof for a cause we provide all of the material and labor at zero cost to the owner. On this particular project we partnered with CertainTeed Roofing products who provided the asphalt shingles. Not only did they provide the material, they upgraded us from a standard Landmark roofing shingle to a Landmark Pro! That means the customer will get a heavier, thicker shingle with a high definition color enhancement. 

Every project comes with its own unique challenges. On this particular project the material was warehoused down in Portland, OR. We had a very small window of time to get the material up to Tacoma and loaded on the roof so we could install it within our schedule allowance. 

Our distribution partner SRS Building Supply/Stoneway Roofing Supply stepped up to the plate. Our sales representative drove down to Portland in his personal vehicle and picked up the 9,500 lbs worth of material to ensure we had it on time!

  Immanuel Presbyterian Church was established in 1888, making it one of Tacoma's oldest religious organizations that is still in operation.

  The church is located in the North Slope neighborhood, which was developed in part by streetcar systems between 1880 and 1940. The neighborhood was home to a diverse population, including workers and the middle class, as well as some of Tacoma's Black leaders.
